About

Doosan Ukudu Power has created poweronthemove.org website to inform the public of the arrival and transport of large scale equipment and parts for Guam's new power plant. Due to the massive size and weight of these parts, DUP has launched this website and a full communications plan to keep the public informed throughout the transport process.

The transport will involve Self Propelled Modular Trailers (SPMT) with loads weighing up to 176 tons from the Port Authority of Guam to Ukudu at 1mph which will take approximately 12 to 14 hours to complete. The transports will take place during non-peak hours, 6 p.m.-6 a.m., and will be accompanied by a Guam Police Department escort as well as private vehicles. No hazardous material will be transported. Drivers are encouraged to plan their commutes in advance to avoid the inconvenience of traffic and ensure a safe move. The transport schedule can be found under traffic management plan and live tracking will allow drivers to see where the convoy will be at all times. The public can also anticipate short-term road closures when the trailers pass intersections. Alternate routes can be found here to help the public avoid traffic delays.

The public will be informed of transport times when SPMT will be on the road with the heavy load and when SPMT will be returning to the port, short term road closures when SPMT is passing intersections, estimated time of when and where the transportation convoy may be on a particular portion of Rte. 1, Marine Corps Drive, and lane availability during those times. Additionally, work along the roads and roadside will occur to prepare for the transport, including median removal and tree trimming. Information regarding the transport project will be disseminated through road signs, advertising, Facebook and this designated website.

Bypass route plans have been developed, suggesting alternate routes and detours to help the public avoid traffic delays.

Doosan Ukudu Power and all entities involved ask for the public's patience during this transport period and thank you for your understanding.
